Coffee Cart

Two weeks ago my students and I opened a Coffee Cart for the teachers in our school. My students have been hard at work improving their money skills. I have been so impressed with their efforts that I decided to reward them with a fun lesson so that they could demonstrate their new skills! This lesson did not just help reinforce their ability to identify coins, add amounts, and make change, it also helped them with their life skills and social interactions. I had teachers sign up on a Google Doc and made order forms for my students. That morning, students helped me fill the orders and followed directions to complete coffee orders fully. Next, we went to classrooms and offices to deliver the coffees. The students did such a great job making change, identifying coin values and serving the staff. Everyone was so impressed with the manners demonstrated, the math skills shown, and of course the coffee!
